Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 September 2026
Gymmie is a workout tracker. This policy explains exactly what we store, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than boilerplate — if something here is unclear, that is a bug, and you can tell us at the address on the support page.
What we store
- Your account: email address, display name, handle, and unit preference.
- Your training: workouts, exercises, sets, weights, reps, personal records, bodyweight and body measurements you log.
- Social activity: friend connections, feed posts generated when you finish a workout, reactions and comments, and challenges you join.
- Usage analytics: counts and timings only — that a workout was completed, how many sets, how many taps it took. Never your weights, exercise names, notes, or anything you typed. You can turn this off in Profile → Privacy.
- Diagnostics: if the app crashes, Apple’s MetricKit gives us a crash report containing a call stack. It contains no personal content.
- Device token, only if you turn on push notifications.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Analytics are stored in our own database.
- We do not read your progress photos. They never leave your device.
Progress photos
Progress photos are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage. They are not uploaded to our servers, not included in backups we hold, and not visible to friends. Deleting the app deletes them.
Who can see your training
Your workouts are private by default. Friends you have accepted can see the activity that appears in your feed. A workout template is private unless you explicitly turn on sharing for it, which publishes only the plan — never your logged history. Every one of these rules is enforced in the database, not just in the app.
Apple Health
If you grant permission, Gymmie writes finished workouts and bodyweight to Apple Health and reads your latest bodyweight. Health data is governed by Apple’s privacy protections; we never receive it unless you grant access, and we do not use it for advertising. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app.
Where it is stored
Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres, hosted in the United States). A full copy of your own training data also lives on your device so the app works without a signal.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account inside the app. This permanently removes your profile, workouts, personal records, social activity and analytics events, and wipes the copy on your device. It cannot be undone. If you would rather we did it for you, email the address on the support page.
Children
Gymmie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
